Like most nonprofit organizations, Pace Center for Girls Broward had to get creative this year when it came time to plan for their annual Believing in Girls Empowerment Luncheon, their biggest annual fundraiser. In fact, creativity became their theme.
Partnering with local artists, Pace Center for Girls Broward has transformed the outdoor area at their center in Wilton Manors through a series of murals, a mosaic installation, and a brand new butterfly garden to help create a welcoming, inspiring space as more girls return to Pace for in-person learning and counseling.
Each artist has added their unique talent and inspiration to the project, creating visions of empowerment, love, and hope. “This project is exciting to me because I want girls to recognize their fundamental inner power and potential, regardless of their circumstances,” says Rosanna Kalis, a self-taught Korean-American artist based in Fort Lauderdale. Additional artists include Talia Oré; Nadine Egan Floyd; Mychelle Bentley aka Mermanaut Mishell; Caryn Frishman; Gabriela Martinez aka Gibbigabs; Mayte Almeida; Chen Bitton; J.M. Bondanella; Gabriela Jaxon; and Outside The Lines Crew formed by Priscilla Perez, Jess Osborn and Xavier Herron.
