Addressing Homelessness for Transgender Youth
Bridges Spiritual Centers invites anyone interested in addressing homelessness for transgender youth (ages 18 to 24), to a presentation, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., January 11, by Reverend Dr. Jerry Troyer, founding board member and director of Shelter Operations for Urban Street Angels, in San Diego, (UrbanStreetAngels.org). Dr. Jerry will share this inspiring program and discuss how similar programs could be started elsewhere.
On January 12, Dr. Jerry will be the guest speaker at Bridges Spiritual Centers, at 11 a.m., then offer a workshop at 12:30 p.m., titled “The Search for Inner Peace: Being at Home in the Muddy Water”, discussing the importance of honoring and allowing our human emotions and feelings while also remembering our spiritual foundation of Oneness.
In keeping with the centers’ Mission Statement: “We are here to honor and nurture the innate divinity in everyone and everything”, they are thrilled to be hosting this weekend event with Dr. Jerry, open to one and all.
Location: 1881 NE 26th St., Wilton Manors. Cost: $10/workshop fee. Light refreshments provided. For more information and reservations, call 954-530-6006.
