Transform Your Life, Become a Yoga Teacher
October 13 marks the beginning of the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach. The course meets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Sundays, through April 19, 2020.
Join the legacy of yoga teachers trained at the Yoga Center, where hundreds from across the U.S. have completed teacher training since 1988. The course was revised to meet Yoga Alliance standards for 200-hour certification in 2000.
Lead trainers Louise Goldberg, Christine Apter (both published authors) and Dotty Zevin are joined by Joy Weissman, Kate Brescia and Cheryl Thatcher. This diverse and highly experienced faculty (with over 130 years of combined teaching experience) offers extensive instruction in asana, philosophy, anatomy, pranayama, Sanskrit terminology, chakras and teaching practice.
Participants study the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras, meditation, asana sequencing, language skills, and the art of adjustment, alignment and injury prevention. Introductions to specialties include yin, chair, pregnancy, special needs, restorative, advanced yoga, and musical vinyasa flows.
Offering programs to the South Florida community since 1968, staff and students describe the Yoga Center as a welcoming, heart-centered studio.
