The Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine (ATOM), Fort Lauderdale, has just received substantive change approval by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) to offer a Doctor of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program. The DAOM is a clinically based, advanced professional program with a specialty in TCM Internal Medicine, and is open to individuals with a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine or licensed practitioners.

The intensive module format both accommodates practitioners’ lives and professional practices, as well as creates an environment in which students can immediately apply the knowledge and skills they learn in their clinical practices. The doctorate can enhance the careers of graduates as experts in the field as they contribute to the advancement of the medicine.

ATOM has assembled an expert faculty to present a curriculum based on the integration of biomedicine with the modern and classical application of Chinese medicine. These topics are supported by clinical research and advanced clinical training experiences.

The program’s tentative start date is early 2013. Practitioners interested in attending this program now or in the near future are encouraged to contact Karen Gemignani, ATOM’s Admissions Counselor, 954-763-9840, Extension 213, [email protected] See ad page 3.
