Ginger Mahadeo has been working with the homeless “ministry” for more than 30 years. The need is greater than many realize. Her love and compassion for people is a gift from the Divine—looking beyond the person and seeing the need.

Mahadeo learned firsthand what it’s like to lose everything. Who could she ask for help? She was embarrassed, afraid and ashamed to share what had happened in her life. Seeking God for answers through prayer and fasting, things began to change. Becoming established again, she felt it was her time to give back.

Leaving the grocery store, a homeless person asking for help. The bottoms of his feet blistered—no shoes, raggedy clothes. Passing by is a lady pushing a grocery cart containing her entire life—her shoes badly worn with holes. “My heart sank. Tears began to run down my cheeks and I knew I needed to find a way to reach out to our local community,” explains Mahadeo. It is her quest to purchase new shoes for the homeless, and she is reaching out for help with funding.
